Today, Thursday, the Federal Integrity Commission revealed a waste of public money amounting to five billion dinars in a contract to construct residential homes for the benefit of the General Company for the Implementation of Transport Projects affiliated with the Ministry of Transport.
The Authority’s Government Media and Communications Office stated in a statement received by Mawazine News, that “the work team of the Samawah Investigation Office revealed, after investigation and audit, the existence of a waste of public money in the project to establish (34) houses for the concrete beams factory in Samawah, amounting to (4,995).” (866,750) four billion dinars, indicating that the General Company for the Implementation of Transport Projects referred the floor construction project three times to different companies, as a result of poor implementation, which indicates inaccuracy in the selection. A contract annex was also organized to complete the remaining work, amounting to (168,067). ,000) one hundred and sixty-eight million dinars.”
The office indicated that “there is no economic feasibility in establishing the role as the role has not been exploited yet, which led to it being exposed to extinction at a rate of (10% - 30%) according to the technical report of the consultant, noting that the letter of the General Company for the Implementation of Transport and Communications Projects, which stated It is not possible for employees to occupy these homes or benefit from them in any other way (investment or leasing), due to the lack of staff from the company, pointing to the issuance of the decision of the competent investigating judge that includes approaching the Ministry of Transport to record the statements of the Ministry’s legal representative and conduct the administrative investigation.
The office added that the team, which moved to the Samawah Municipality Directorate, was able to detect violations in granting a property as a musataha contract for a period of (25) years to investors. For the purpose of establishing a fuel filling station with an amount of (1,106,985,000) billion dinars, and an annual rental allowance amounting to (11,000,000) eleven million dinars, explaining that Al-Musataha built the station in violation of the law as the proper approvals were not obtained from Before the Oil Products Distribution Company in Al-Muthanna, in addition to the fact that the location of the station’s construction is located in front of the Samawah government station. This affects the sales of the government station, indicating that the priorities for the two cases have been set, based on the provisions of Article (15/First) of the Federal Integrity Commission Law No. (30 of 2011), as amended.
