Iraq ranks seventh in the world in sustainable development

The Parliamentary Committee on Higher Education and Scientific Research is following with interest Iraq's ranking seventh globally and first in the Arab world in the Times Sustainable Development Index.
The committee's vice-chairman, Adel Al-Rikabi, told Al-Sabah: The committee has followed with interest the Iraqi universities' ranking seventh globally and first in the Arab world in the Times classification, which includes many criteria in sustainable development.
He explained that the number of Iraqi universities that participated in this classification is more than 70 universities, which indicates its vitality and the distinguished performance of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, noting that it is a gain for education in Iraq and befits its status and cultural heritage.
Al-Rikabi pointed out that the Higher Education Committee supports all government measures in implementing its program, especially in the field of supporting higher education and infrastructure, stressing that the Ministry of Higher Education's share is still small in the number of universities compared to other countries, given that Iraq has a deeper history and knowledge.
