President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, praised Spain's principled and firm position on the Palestinian issue on Thursday.
The Presidency of the Republic stated in a statement received by Mawazine News that "Rashid received Pedro Martinez Martin, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain to Iraq, on the occasion of the end of his term."
During the meeting, the President of the Republic stressed "the need to constantly strive to develop bilateral cooperation between the two friendly countries," praising "the efforts made by Martin in this field, and wishing him success in his upcoming diplomatic missions."
The President of the Republic also praised Spain's principled and firm position on the Palestinian issue, its support for the rights of the Palestinian people, and its constant endeavor to achieve peace in the region.
For his part, the Ambassador expressed his thanks and gratitude for the President's support for his diplomatic efforts while performing his duties, stressing his country's keenness to consolidate bilateral relations with Iraq and advance them in a way that serves the aspirations of the two friendly peoples.
