Baghdad Today - Baghdad
Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani stressed, today, Tuesday (August 6, 2024), the importance of local governments in implementing the government program at the governorate level.
The Prime Minister's Office said in a statement received by "Baghdad Today", "Al-Sudani received, today, Tuesday, the Diyala Governor elected by the Provincial Council, Adnan Ja'ir Al-Shammari."
The statement quoted Al-Sudani as stressing "the tasks of local governments and their importance in implementing the government program at the governorate level, as they represent the necessary executive arm alongside the ministries and their institutions, and strengthening the oversight and legislative role through the work of the governorate council."
During the meeting, Al-Sudani pointed out the "necessity of working with all national forces in the governorate, in order to change the service, social and economic reality, and for the governorate's agencies to provide satisfactory performance that meets the citizens' aspirations, and confirms the government's goals and priorities, in addition to addressing basic projects and infrastructure according to importance and in accordance with necessities that cannot be postponed."
