    Baghdad Today - Sulaymaniyah
Today, Monday (September 2, 2024), the academic specializing in economics at the University of Sulaymaniyah, Khalid Haider, commented on the possibility of improving the living conditions of the Kurdish citizen, especially after the disbursement of employees’ salaries.
Haider said in an interview with Baghdad Today, "The Kurdish employee has fears about the future, even if salaries are given on time, in a specific amount, every 30 days, and without deductions."
He added, "The Kurdish citizen and the employee in particular live in a state of anxiety, as to whether he will receive his salary or not, and therefore these fears cannot be easily eliminated, and this fear has led to a decrease in demand in the markets."
He pointed out that "these concerns affect the level of the economy in general, as demand is the main influence on the movement of the economy, and in the event of a decrease in demand, production will decrease, contributing to the employment of people and workers, but all of this requires stability in the process of disbursing salaries."
The capital, Baghdad, hosted a purely Kurdish meeting, held for the first time, which included Kurdish political forces, in the presence of President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, to discuss the salary crisis in the region.
Member of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, Jamal Kocher, revealed, today, Monday (September 2, 2024), the details of the Kurdish blocs’ meeting yesterday in Baghdad.
Kocher said in an interview with Baghdad Today, "The meeting was to brief on what happened in the corridors of the government with Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, Minister of Finance Taif Sami, and the delegation of the regional government, as well as to coordinate efforts so that we can overcome the obstacles to overcome the salary crisis ."
He added, "A program has been developed for the Kurdish blocs for a series of visits to several ministers in the federal government, as well as in the region, to overcome obstacles and coordinate efforts to complete all the aforementioned observations made by the Financial Supervision Bureau regarding the salaries of employees in the region."
This is the first meeting of its kind, as the Kurdish forces in Baghdad have not met at one table since the departure of Jalal Talabani, especially after the polarizations that have struck the Kurdish ranks and their unity, as observers see it.
