    Baghdad Today - Baghdad
Security expert Ahmed Al-Tamimi raised what he called the principle of no return in the Lebanon war today, Friday (September 27, 2024), while indicating that the Zionist entity will attack southern Lebanon if it senses a real weakness in Hezbollah’s defensive capabilities.
Al-Tamimi said in an interview with Baghdad Today, "Tel Aviv's decision to invade southern Lebanon has actually been taken, or rather it is on the table awaiting implementation, and it is dependent on one point and may lead it to a catastrophic quagmire, meaning that the material and human drain will be many times what happened in Gaza." He pointed out that "Netanyahu's government does not care about calls for diplomacy and stability and so on because it has not backed down in Gaza and the death toll and wounded have exceeded 100,000 civilians, while the American administration, up until now, denies the existence of any mistakes or at least condemns genocide, meaning that we are facing the hypocrisy of the largest country in the world."
He added, "If Tel Aviv senses a real weakness in Hezbollah's defensive capabilities, it will inevitably attack southern Lebanon, and if that happens, all the Shiite factions will rush to support the resistance, and then thousands of fighters of various nationalities will flow in. He pointed out that all countries, no matter how much pressure America exerts, will turn a blind eye to the flow of fighters because the situation will be extremely chaotic and the region will inevitably ignite."
Al-Tamimi pointed out that, "Despite Iran's recent messages that it is not in favor of escalation and direct war with Tel Aviv because it realizes that 30 Western countries, referring to NATO, will rush to support the entity in all forms, it will not remain silent and will push for the creation of new factions of different nationalities to reach Lebanon and fight alongside Hezbollah. This is the truth that America now realizes and this is what is pushing it to avoid invading the south because events could get out of control and uncontrollable organizations and factions could crystallize and American interests would become targeted in many countries of the Islamic world."
He said, "Russia and other countries hostile to the West will not remain silent and will do everything they can to have an impact on events by supporting America's enemies. This is a strategy that no two people disagree on in light of the consequences of what is happening in Ukraine."
The security expert continued, "The invasion of southern Lebanon will lead to the principle of no return, meaning that the map will change in its geopolitical variables, not only on the regional level but also on the global level, because the involvement of countries in the events means more escalation that may get out of control."
