    Information/ Baghdad..
On Tuesday, former MP, Manar Abdul Muttalib, identified three reasons behind the worrying air pollution in Baghdad and other governorates.
Abdul Muttalib said in an interview with Al-Maalouma, "The file of air pollution in Iraq is not a sudden event, but rather the result of accumulations that have extended over years, and there were early warnings about the danger of rising concentrations of harmful gas emissions resulting from the use of specific types of heavy fuel, especially black oil."
She added, "The burning of waste at an increasing rate, in addition to what is produced by industrial workshops and asphalt factories, in addition to the use of black oil in generating electricity by some stations, are all reasons that lead to the pollution of the air in Baghdad and other governorates."
She pointed out that "the rates of harmful emissions, especially sulfur dioxide and other heavy compounds, cause air pollution and lead to cases of suffocation, not to mention the results of a series of studies that warn that these atmospheres may lead to acute diseases."
It is noteworthy that the atmosphere of Baghdad and other governorates has recently witnessed unprecedented pollution with strong sulfurous odors that have caused dozens of patients to be transferred to hospitals due to suffocation cases. End 25 F
