1,700 files on corruption of Maliki’s Council of Ministers disappears
    December 11, 2014

The Iraqi Vice President Nuri al-Maliki

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) An informed source in the Integrity Commission revealed that a senior official transferred nearly 1,700 files of corruption belonging to the work of the senior staff of the former cabinet of Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki to an unknown location.

The source said that, “After the government’s approval of thousands of “ghost” employees in the Defense and Interior, the official in charge of investigation in the Integrity Commission transferred approximately 1700 files—related to the employees of Maliki’s Council of Ministers and its advisors—to an unknown location, in anticipation for the arrival of investigative entities from the Integrity of Parliament Commission and the legal department of the Council of Ministers.”

Maliki described al-Abadi’s statements as “absolutely false”, urging him to be accurate in the investigationAbadi’s response to his predecessor was vowing to pursue corruption even if it cost him his life—that reveals the existence of a conflict between the leaders of Dawa Party, which has recently lost a lot of its followers and credibility, that one of its leaders, Sami al-Askari, is not embarrassed to describe it as the reason for the destruction of Iraq.
