Securities trade more than 88 billion shares

The periodic report on stock trading for the month of October revealed that more than 88 billion shares were traded, achieving an increase of 87 percent over September, with a total value exceeding 84 billion shares.
The Executive Director of the Iraq Stock Exchange, Taha Ahmed Abdul Salam, said: Trading last October amounted to (88,223,025,342) shares, an increase of (87 percent) over September for all market platforms, with a total value of the total traded shares amounting to (84,455,079,768) dinars, an increase of (53 percent) over September.
Abdul Salam pointed out that the Iraq Stock Exchange organized (22) trading sessions in October 2024, at a rate of five sessions per week, and the number of companies listed in the market is (110) joint-stock companies, including (104) companies within the trading platforms for listed companies, noting (6) companies within the OTC platform for unlisted companies and trading shares of (81) joint-stock companies during October on all platforms.
He confirmed that the number of executed contracts amounted to (22,106) contracts, up by (24 percent) from September, noting that the ISX60 stock price index traded in the last session of October 2024 closed at (1044) points, up by (12) percent from its closing for September of (929) points.
Abdul Salam pointed out that the ISX15 free float index closed at (1116) points in the last session of October 2024, achieving an increase of (8%) over its closing in September (1031) points, indicating that until 10/31/2024, the market organized (201) trading sessions and the total number of traded shares reached 454,095,451,139 shares, an increase of (5) over last year, with a value of (565,141,611,118) dinars, an increase of (14) over last year, through the execution of (149,154) contracts, an increase of (15%) over last year for all market platforms.
Regarding the listing of government bonds, the market announced the acceptance of the listing of the second issue of “Enjaz” bonds 2024, and that the size of the issue is worth (2.169)
trillion dinars and in two categories, the first is the 500,000 dinar category with an annual interest of 6.5% paid every six months for a period of two years, and the second is the 1,000,000 dinar category with an annual interest of 8.5%, paid every six months for a period of four years.
He pointed out that the listed tradable bonds are “Binaa” bonds, “Emaar” bonds, in addition to “Enjaz” bonds.
