Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani praised, today, Tuesday (November 5, 2024), the assistance provided by the United Nations Mission to Iraq in facing challenges over the years following 2003, during his reception of  the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Mohammed Al-Hassan.
The Prime Minister's media office stated in a statement received by "Baghdad Today" that "Al-Sudani received  today, Tuesday, the representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Iraq, Mohammed Al-Hassan, where they reviewed the relations and joint programs between Baghdad and the international organization, and ways to proceed with them in light of the agreement to end the UNAMI mission."
The statement added that "the Prime Minister praised  the assistance provided by the United Nations mission to Iraq in facing the challenges over the years following 2003, and highlighted the turning points and difficulties that the people went through, and the importance of what His Eminence, the Grand Ayatollah Sayyid al-Sistani, presented during his reception of al-Hassan, in terms of diagnosing the country's needs and realistic visions of the aspirations of the Iraqi people, which the government summarized in the priorities of its current and ongoing program."
The statement explained that "the meeting discussed the latest developments in the region, the aggression against Gaza and southern Lebanon, and the continuation of the war of genocide practiced by the Zionists."
