    Member of the State of Law Coalition bloc, MP Firas Al-Maslamawi, revealed on Tuesday the discussions of Parliament Speaker Mahmoud Al-Mashhadani yesterday with the parliamentary blocs within Parliament.
    Al-Maslamawi said in a statement to Al-Maalouma Agency, "Yesterday, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mahmoud Al-Mashhadani, held a round of discussions at the headquarters of the parliamentary political blocs in the Council, where the next stage of the Council's work was discussed, which was summarized in three important axes."
    He added, "Al-Mashhadani discussed the issue of resolving controversial laws and the possibility of overcoming the obstacles facing voting on them."
    Al-Maslamawi continued: “As for the second file, it is related to discussing the next stage of the parliament’s work, which is considered a pivotal stage because it coincides with the ministerial amendment,” noting that “the third file included activating the oversight role, especially in the field of seriously following up on financial and administrative corruption in state institutions.”
    Al-Maslamawi pointed out that "the discussions were positive and that these laws will be passed very soon."
    Last Thursday, the House of Representatives elected MP Mahmoud Al-Mashhadani as Speaker of the House, and with this election, the House turned the most important page in the history of the legislative authority after the absence of a genuine Speaker of the House for nearly a full year. End/25m
