    Information/Baghdad…
MP Mudhar Al-Karwi revealed, on Tuesday, a green light from Baghdad to build the first waste recycling plant in eastern Iraq.
Al-Karwi said in an interview with Al-Maalouma, "The governorates of eastern Iraq, including Diyala, are suffering from a waste crisis and its negative consequences in environmental files and the ongoing pollution, especially of the atmosphere and groundwater."
He added that he "prepared a study that was submitted to the Prime Minister's Office, which interacted with it and gave the green light to proceed with establishing the first waste recycling plant in Diyala in eastern Iraq. This is the beginning of a future phase that will be generalized during the coming period."
He pointed out that "waste recycling is a step towards reducing the risk of environmental pollution, especially with landfill fires and their direct impact on citizens' health, in addition to direct groundwater pollution."
It is noteworthy that Iraq suffers from environmental pollution for several reasons, including the lack of proper treatment of the waste file in a way that reduces emissions. End 25 F
