Today, Thursday, the Director General of the General Company for Iraqi Ports revealed, in numbers, the percentages of completion in the Grand Faw Port projects.
Director General of the General Company for Iraqi Ports, Farhan Al-Fartousi, during the ceremony of receiving the five berths of the Grand Faw Port: “The Faw Port project is proceeding with the strength and will of the people and the challenge of difficulties.”
He added, "Today we will celebrate receiving the official document for receiving the five berths of the Grand Faw Port and achieving 100 percent completion."
He added, "The second project is the road linking Al-Faw Port and Umm Qasr City via a 63-kilometre road, and the completion rate has reached more than 93 percent," noting that "this road contains two bridges, the completion rates of which have reached 98 percent."
He pointed out that "the container yard project has reached 79 percent completion, which is an advanced rate."
Al-Fartousi pointed out that "the project to establish the navigation canal consists of two parts, an internal and an external, with a total length of 23 kilometers and depths ranging from 11 to 19.8 meters, and the amount of mud that was extracted was 86 million cubic meters."
He added, "The immersed tunnel project, which is the most difficult and unique in the Middle East, has reached a completion rate of about 59%."
