The government media team announced today, Friday, the completion of 670 schools in all governorates, while confirming that 1,000 model schools will be completed by the end of this year.
The spokesman for the government media team, Haider Majeed, said: "The Department of National Projects and School Buildings in the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers has achieved tangible progress in the model school buildings project, which is one of the most important priorities of the government in its government program and ministerial curriculum."
He added that "the completion rate has exceeded 50% in all governorates, after the completion of 670 schools with four models and three capacities: 12, 18 and 24 classrooms, according to the plan," noting that "the project is scheduled to be completed in its first phase by the end of this year with 1,000 schools."
Majeed explained that "the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers continues its periodic follow-up of the work stages through its field visits to the various work sites, in addition to the ongoing meetings with the two Chinese companies implementing the project, which will contribute to a large extent to ending the phenomenon of caravan schools and double and triple shifts."
