Political and popular demands in Iraq are becoming increasingly urgent to expel American forces as soon as possible to stop their threat to Iraqi national security, especially after Donald Trump came to power in America, who is known for his departure from all rules of logic, international politics, and diplomatic norms.[/size]
[size=45]Given the power that the security forces and the Popular Mobilization Forces have achieved, Iraq no longer needs the presence of the American army on its territory, as it is capable of confronting any security threat that it may be exposed to, as security and political experts confirm.[/size]
[size=45]In this context, Member of Parliament Zainab al-Moussawi said in an interview, “The success of the security forces and the Popular Mobilization Forces in defeating the terrorist organization ISIS and liberating the provinces it controlled years ago proved that Iraq now has a shield and a sword, and the American forces at that time had no significant role,” expressing her surprise at “the continued presence of American forces on Iraqi territory” despite that.[/size]
[size=45]She added that "the presence of American forces is not only a threat to Iraqi national security, but also threatens the country's sovereignty, and their removal is inevitable and necessary," after American forces violated the security agreement between Baghdad and Washington and allowed the Zionist entity's fighters to penetrate Iraqi airspace.[/size]
[size=45]For his part, Issam Al-Karti, a leader in the Coordination Framework, confirmed on Thursday that Trump's victory will not change Baghdad's position on expelling American forces.[/size]
[size=45]Al-Kriti said in an interview, “The withdrawal of American forces from Iraq is a strategic choice based on a parliamentary green light through an official decision, in addition to popular support, because the priority is security and stability and removing the presence of any foreign force on the country’s territory.”[/size]
[size=45]He added, "Trump's victory will not change Baghdad's position on withdrawing American forces in light of the existence of an agreement and a time frame to begin their gradual withdrawal ending in 2026," noting that "any procrastination will lead to major results and the people will not accept any delay."[/size]
[size=45]He pointed out that "it is in the interest of the Iraqis to expel the American forces that showed their true position in the crimes of genocide against the Palestinian people, and even facilitated the flight of the Zionist entity's aircraft over Iraqi airspace to strike a neighboring Muslim country in violation of sovereignty and transgression of the standards and provisions of the strategic agreement."[/size]
