    Economy News - Baghdad
[rtl]Head of the Strategic Center for Human Rights, Fadhel Al-Gharawi, confirmed today, Sunday, that 60% of Iraqis suffer from psychological pressures due to traffic congestion.[/rtl]
[rtl]Al-Gharawi said in a statement, "A number of Iraqi cities suffer from traffic congestion during peak hours that has reached 200% of the normal indicators," indicating that "the roads of the capital, Baghdad, accommodate 300,000 cars during peak hours, while the number of cars during peak hours there reaches one million cars."[/rtl]
[rtl]He added, "60% of Iraqis suffer from psychological pressures due to traffic congestion, in addition to the economic losses caused by this congestion."[/rtl]
[rtl]Al-Gharawi called on the government to "activate public transportation, pave ring roads for all governorates, establish administrative cities outside the main city centers, restore the odd-even system for cars, maintain roads and tunnels, connect the governorates with international roads with global specifications, and begin to drop car models up to the year 2012 to reduce congestion on the streets."[/rtl]
