    Economy News - Baghdad
[rtl]Minister of Industry Khaled Batal revealed today, Saturday, that there is a government move to ensure the provision of gas for fertilizer projects, while he pointed out that urea factories produce 2,500 tons per day.[/rtl]

[rtl]Batal said, “The country’s urea factories produce about 2,500 tons per day, but this quantity is severely affected by the lack of natural gas, which is essential in the production of nitrogenous fertilizers such as urea.”[/rtl]

[rtl]He pointed out that "the electricity sector relies heavily on gas, which leads to the transfer of supplies from the Ministry of Industry to the Ministry of Electricity to meet public needs," indicating that "the Ministry of Industry faces major challenges in operating fertilizer production lines, as only one production line out of two is operating due to the shortage of gas."[/rtl]

[rtl]The Minister of Industry pointed out that "contracts were signed for fertilizer projects in Baiji and Abu Al-Khaseeb, in addition to the fact that the ministry is in the process of signing a contract for the phosphate project," noting that "the government issued a decision to negotiate with the Ministry of Oil to sign tripartite contracts between the Ministry of Industry, investors, and the Ministry of Oil to ensure the provision of the gas needed for these projects."[/rtl]
