The First Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, stressed today, Friday, that the decision of the International Criminal Court to arrest Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his dismissed Minister of Defense represents a bold and important step towards the victory of the values of justice, humanity and peace.
Al-Mandalawi said in a statement received by "Mawazine News": "This courageous decision is an honorable position that restores the status of major international institutions and enhances people's confidence in them. It also shows that the pressures exerted on the International Criminal Court did not prevent it from working independently and impartially to support the right and the oppressed."
He added: "We bless this fair decision, which we have previously called for in regional and international forums to hold the leaders of the occupation accountable for their crimes."
Al-Mandalawi called on all countries to cooperate effectively and urgently to implement the decision and abide by it, stressing the need to besiege and isolate Israel politically and diplomatically to force it to stop its aggression against the peoples of the region and its threat to international security and peace.
