Iraqi Parliament member Faten Al-Qarghouli criticized, today, Friday, what she described as the continued attempts to include controversial laws on the council’s agenda according to the single-basket mechanism.
[size=45]Al-Qargouli said, "There is widespread rejection by many representatives of passing controversial laws according to the one-basket system."[/size]
[size=45]She explained that “the aim of including the laws within the single basket mechanism is to complete the legal quorum for passing controversial laws, and this is in violation of Federal Court Decision No. 21 of 2015, which stipulates that proposals and laws be submitted in coordination with the judicial authority.”[/size]
[size=45]Al-Qarghouli expressed her “rejection of the path followed by some political forces in passing controversial draft laws within what is known as the ‘single basket’.” End 25h[/size]
