    Baghdad Today - Baghdad 
    Member of the Fatah Alliance, Ali Al-Fatlawi, confirmed today, Saturday (November 30, 2024), the existence of a plan aimed at bringing back terrorism in Iraq and the region, with the United States of America behind it.
    Al-Fatlawi said in an interview with Baghdad Today, "What is happening in Syria now is part of the United States of America's plan to bring back terrorism in the region, specifically in Iraq and Syria, and this is with the aim of finding an excuse and justification for the American forces to remain in the country for a longer period, after the results of the withdrawal dialogues have reached very advanced stages."
    He added, "Iraq does not need any foreign force to maintain its security, even if there is terrorism and danger on its borders. Iraq now has security and military forces ready and prepared to defend Iraq's security, as well as the Popular Mobilization Forces. Therefore, the 2014 scenario cannot be repeated again."
    About 48 hours after launching the "Deterrence of Aggression" battle, the armed Syrian opposition factions are now on the outskirts of Aleppo, the capital of northern Syria, in a rapid and unprecedented field development within the course of the military conflict between the regime and the opposition, which opens the door to speculation.
    The battle is mainly led by Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, which has the most prominent influence in Idlib and the Aleppo countryside, in addition to opposition military factions that are part of the formation of the National Liberation Front, according to strategic goals represented in removing the regime’s influence from the opposition-controlled areas in northwestern Syria.
    Although the "Military Operations Department" leading the battle has not explicitly announced that it seeks to control the city of Aleppo militarily, its recent statements have confirmed that "the operation has no limits and will not stop at a specific geographical limit."
    According to regional positions, there are indications of Turkey's support for the opposition operation in the Aleppo countryside, according to what a Turkish security source told Reuters that the operation falls within the borders of the de-escalation zone in Idlib "which was agreed upon by Russia, Iran and Turkey in 2019.
