Today, Saturday (November 30, 2024), the commander of the border forces, Lieutenant General Muhammad Abdul-Wahhab Sakr Al-Saeedi, reassured the Iraqis that there had been no breach of the border with Syria .
Al-Saeedi said in a statement received by "Baghdad Today", "Our men stand at the farthest borders of the homeland with unwavering determination to protect their country and its sovereignty from being defiled by the hand of terrorism and evil."
He added, "Our security measures and large fortifications that were established on the Iraqi-Syrian border and behind them are brave men from the border forces, are an impregnable barrier for anyone who wants harm to this country, and they are trusted by Iraqis from north to south."
He continued, "The Border Forces Command worked to complete a series of important fortifications on the Iraqi-Syrian border, reinforced by ideal units of the Border Forces, and a strong support line from the Iraqi army and the Popular Mobilization Forces, which ended all cases of infiltration and smuggling, and there is no room for penetration . "
