    Information / Baghdad..
Communications specialist Ali Anwar confirmed today, Saturday, that contracting with Vodafone cancels the identity of the national company.
Anwar said in an interview with Al-Maalouma Agency, "There is no one against Iraq establishing a national company," indicating that "contracting with Vodafone to establish a national company means obliterating the Iraqi identity."
He added that "the Ministry of Communications did not issue any clarification regarding the terms of the contract or the conditions set by the company for the contract in addition to the value of the sums," indicating that the Public Prosecution Communications Committee does not have any information regarding the Vodafone contract.
He explained that "part of the Vodafone contract money will be taken from the retirement and social security fund, and citizens must know the fate of their money and the investment for which it will be taken, considering that it is a national company and its name is from Iraqi money."
He added that "Vodafone's denial of signing a contract with the Ministry of Communications indicates a misunderstanding on the Iraqi side or that the ministry conveyed more to the Council of Ministers than the reality," noting that "these differences indicate a problem in negotiation and a weakness in coordination."
He confirmed that "the advanced cadre headed by the Ministry of Communications will leave for Dubai next week to expedite the signing of the contract with Vodafone after the recent media pressures."
He explained that "the Ministry of Communications did not participate with anyone in choosing Vodafone, despite the launch of calls for the establishment of a national company with Iraqi cadres, and in the event of a need for foreign expertise, they would be called upon in the form of employees or consultants."
He pointed out that "the presence of an Iraqi national company would have allowed the investment of funds inside Iraq instead of taking them outside Iraq as Vodafone will do." End 25/S
