    The Council holds a meetingRepresentativesToday, Sunday, is the 18th session of its second legislative term, and the session’s agenda is full of discussion and voting on paragraphs of a number of important laws, most notably: the draft law amending the second amendment to the General Amnesty Law No. (27) of 2016, voting on the proposed amendment to the Personal Status Law (188) of 1959, and the draft law to return real estate to its owners covered by some decisions of the Revolutionary Command Council (dissolved).
    The political and popular arenas are anticipating the outcome of today's session, Sunday, as it is expected to witness intense discussions regarding the (general amnesty) law, amid continuing disagreements regarding some of its articles that may affect the possibility of passing it unanimously. The amendment of the (personal status) law is also not far from disagreements and controversy regarding its paragraphs, while the leaders of the political blocs are intensifying their meetings to avoid these disagreements and agree to pass the laws.
