The head of the National Support Bloc, MP Murtada Al-Saadi, clarified Iraq’s position on the ceasefire in Lebanon, while he expected a decline in military operations against the enemy.
Al-Saadi said that “stopping the war in Lebanon will greatly help in stopping the war in Gaza and addressing the issue of the occupation prisoners within the exchange deal that the Hamas leadership emphasized according to their previous conditions.”
He added that “the situation in the Iraqi arena will be different,” expecting that “there will be a decline in military operations against the enemy.”
Al-Saadi pointed out that “the media attack and escalation in the coming stage, which claims that the attack is coming to Iraq after Lebanon, is part of the psychological war,” stressing that “if this happens, Iraq will work to respond by the government and the resistance factions.”
He pointed out that “the Lebanese guests of Iraq are honored and respected in their second country, Iraq, and the decision is theirs to stay or return to their country until the reconstruction process is completed.”
The member of the House of Representatives continued by saying, “The Iraqi government has begun collecting donations, which is a position that Iraq is unique in, unlike other countries,” noting that “many of them have begun returning to Lebanon, and the rest are continuing to arrange their affairs.”
