    The Parliamentary Health and Environment Committee and specialists called for the formation of a committee or center for environmental reform, to address pollution resulting from various activities and encourage the principle of (rewards instead of fines).
    The head of the committee, Majid Shankali, told the official newspaper that “environmental pollution is caused by various activities resulting from the oil and electricity sectors, citizens, waste burning, and others.”  
    He added, "This requires the formation of an environmental reform committee that will monitor and adhere to environmental laws and hold accountable those responsible for the pollution that has accumulated over the past decades."
    He pointed out “the importance of all ministries participating in this committee to adhere to environmental requirements and regulate their laws according to each entity, to eliminate pollution and create a clean environment stemming from adherence to environmental standards.”
    Shankali pointed out that “reports on environmental pollutants are submitted to the executive authorities for the purpose of taking the necessary action and addressing the defect, as the parliamentary committee is a supervisory body.” End/25
