Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani discussed with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian the situation in the region and the movements of terrorist groups in Syria.
The Prime Minister's Media Office stated in a statement that "Al-Sudani received a phone call today, Sunday, from the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mr. Masoud Pezeshkian."
He added that "the call discussed developments in the region, especially the latest developments in Syria, in addition to what is happening in the Palestinian arena, from the ongoing war and crimes committed by the Zionist occupation forces against civilians and vital facilities in the Gaza Strip."
According to the statement, the two sides stressed “the importance of continuing efforts and coordinating them between all countries in the region, in order to stop the war in Gaza, and to work to prevent the deterioration of the situation in Syria in a way that threatens the security and stability of the region.”
