Ministry of Justice hosts the first meeting of the National Committee for Implementing the Strategy to Strengthen the Rule of Law and Establish Justice

[rtl]Baghdad / NINA / The Federal National Team for Implementing the (National Strategy to Strengthen the Rule of Law and Establish Justice 2025-2030) held its first meeting today, Monday, in Baghdad, headed by Minister of Justice Khalid Shawani, in the presence of representatives of the judicial and executive authorities of the central government and their counterparts in the Kurdistan Regional Government, in addition to a representative of the Investigator Organization to Support the Rule of Law and Democracy.
The Minister of Justice stressed that "the strategy aims to consolidate the concepts of democracy in the post-2003 period, and also expresses the state's policy in all its institutions, each according to its jurisdiction, to adopt transparency in organizing the relationship between the state and citizens, by subjecting all individuals and institutions to the rule of law," noting that "adopting a strategy to strengthen the rule of law requires enacting laws to ensure that citizens are able to exercise their legitimate rights."
He added that "Iraq is taking fundamental steps to raise its international classification, by implementing its obligations to protect political, civil and social rights and submitting reports to the competent committee in the United Nations Human Rights Council on an ongoing basis and at the specified times," appreciating the participation of representatives of the Kurdistan Regional Government in the work of the committee for the next stage. / End 5
