    Economy News - Baghdad
[rtl]Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani confirmed today, Monday, that work is underway to prepare a draft law for the Iraq Development Fund, which will be submitted to Parliament.[/rtl]
[rtl]The Prime Minister's Media Office stated in a statement received by "Al-Eqtisad News" that "Al-Sudani sponsored the launch ceremony of the "Edouba" project in its first phase, to construct 600 new school buildings in all Iraqi governorates, within the projects of the Iraq Development Fund, as the implementation will be carried out through the private sector, after completing all the procedures and technical requirements to start construction and implementation."[/rtl]
[rtl]He explained that, "during the ceremony, the accreditation contract was signed for the global consulting company "Meinhard" to be the consultant for the fund's projects, as well as the signing of a contract with Yareem Contracting Company, one of the twelve private sector companies that will undertake the implementation of the first phase of the project. The two contracts were signed by the Fund's Executive Director, Mr. Mohammed Al-Najjar."[/rtl]
[rtl]In his speech during the ceremony, the Prime Minister pointed out that "the Iraq Development Fund embodies the beginning of a new phase of development work, and highlights the government's vision to achieve a strong and sustainable economy, putting Iraq on the path to prosperity and stability, enhanced by the effective participation of the private sector."[/rtl]
[rtl]The Prime Minister said during the meeting: “We have started a new step to build schools through the Iraq Development Fund, and the country needs (8-10) thousand schools,” stressing “the completion of the procedures for the structure of the Iraq Development Fund, and work on preparing a draft law for it, which will be submitted to the House of Representatives.”[/rtl]
[rtl]He added, "The Iraqi private sector is capable and ready to work in all circumstances, and has contributed to building a lot of infrastructure."[/rtl]
[rtl]He added, "Infrastructure is one of the most prominent problems in the education sector, and new designs and modern technologies have been adopted in services and maintenance."[/rtl]
[rtl]He added, "We trust the private sector's ability to build schools, and the lands have been prepared. We have 600 schools, and there are 12 companies with great potential ready to build dozens of schools."[/rtl]
[rtl]He added, "We emphasize the coordination between the Ministry of Education and the governorates to allocate land and build schools according to technical specifications, and we have a consultant who will follow up on the implementation," indicating that "the Ministry of Education was the first station of the Development Fund projects, and the second phase will be for housing."[/rtl]
[rtl]He stressed the "trend towards building residential complexes according to the principle of 'rent and own', and residential units will be allocated to the families of martyrs and the wounded," noting that "granting sovereign guarantees is an important step towards reforming the economic reality and supporting the private sector."[/rtl]
[rtl]He pointed out that "an agreement was concluded with the Testa Foundation in Spain to provide support ranging from 200 million euros to one billion euros, in agreement with the Trade Bank of Iraq," noting that "the private sector has the opportunity to build a national industry, and provide services and job opportunities."[/rtl]
