    Baghdad Today - Baghdad
Diyala Council Chairman Omar Al-Karwi confirmed today, Monday (December 2, 2024), that Prime Minister Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani pledged a plan to revive the largest industrial city in eastern Iraq.
Al-Karwi said in an interview with "Baghdad Today", "Bani Saad district, southwest of Diyala, includes an industrial city consisting of more than 300 factories, plants and workshops for manufacturing more than 70 different products, but it is 95% stopped for several reasons, most notably the lack of government support."
He added, "The file of reviving the industrial areas in Diyala was raised in an extended meeting with Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, who interacted positively and pledged to study the file of the areas and develop appropriate solutions to revive them through direct procedures through the Ministry of Industry and other government institutions."
He pointed out that "the industrial city in Bani Saad is the largest in the eastern sector of Iraq and can provide great job opportunities for the unemployed, stressing that reviving industry is part of our strategy through which we can create more job opportunities and revive the local economy."
Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani visited Diyala Governorate on Wednesday (October 16, 2024), where he chaired a meeting with officials of departments and service formations in Diyala Governorate.
In his speech to officials in Diyala, Al-Sudani stressed the "necessity of working as an integrated team, and the need to overcome differences and carry out tasks in order to achieve what is required."
He pointed out that "infrastructure projects are a priority for the government," recalling the "inevitability of completing them, especially the slow ones," stressing the need to "complete projects away from electoral and political purposes."
In the same context, MP Mudhar Al-Karwi confirmed, on Wednesday (October 16, 2024), that Prime Minister Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani pledged to adopt an integrated 5-dimensional strategy to support Diyala Governorate.
Al-Karwi said in an interview with "Baghdad Today", "The visit of Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani to Diyala and his field inspection of a number of service projects is an important step in order to identify ways to accelerate the pace of their completion, identify obstacles to some of them, and take decisions regarding a series of important files."
He added, "Al-Sudani pledged to adopt a comprehensive strategy of 5 dimensions to support Diyala during our meeting with him, which includes resolving the ministries' projects file, financing other projects, opening up to the governorate's investment file, presenting promising opportunities, in addition to taking measures to develop oil and gas fields and improve the work of border crossings."
Al-Karwi pointed out that "Al-Sudani stressed the importance of investing in Diyala's stability in the files of enhancing services and moving to a new phase that gives the people a sense of reassurance after a difficult period they went through."
