[rtl]Baghdad / NINA / The Parliamentary Foreign Relations Committee stressed the importance of parliamentary diplomacy in strengthening and supporting international relations between friendly countries at various levels.
The head of the committee, MP Dilan Ghafoor Saleh, said during the meeting of the Iraqi parliamentary delegation with the head of the Greek Parliamentary Friendship Group, Xenophon Baraliakes, and Vice President Konstantinos Kefalogiannis, in the Greek Parliament building, that "the Iraqi government's program is to open up to Greek society, through cultural missions and work to bring companies closer together in the fields of economy, trade and investment," indicating that "one of the pillars of developing bilateral relations is concluding international agreements for joint cooperation."
For his part, the head of the Greek Friendship Committee welcomed the visit of the Iraqi parliamentary delegation, stressing the depth of relations between the two countries, and the bonds of friendship that bind the peoples of Iraq and Greece, built on solid foundations of respect, values and common interests.
The meeting discussed issues of joint cooperation in the fields of agriculture, tourism, culture and investment between Iraq and Greece, facilitating procedures for granting entry visas to and from the two countries, as well as the strategic role played by Iraq in supporting the Lebanese and Palestinian peoples, and Greece’s solidarity with stopping the Zionist attacks on Gaza and Lebanon, and establishing peace in the region./End5
