Al-Fayyadh: We will not allow anyone to cross the borders

The head of the Popular Mobilization Authority, Faleh Al-Fayyadh, stressed that Iraq is strong with its government, parliament, judicial institution, political forces and components, and that the Popular Mobilization Forces and all security forces will not allow anyone
to breach the borders. Al-Fayyadh said in a special interview on Al-Iraqiya News, moderated by the head of the Iraqi Media Network, Karim Hammadi: "The region is going through exceptional circumstances," indicating that "what is happening around us, in Syria, is a cause for concern, not panic and confusion, and everyone must act responsibly."
He added that "the Popular Mobilization Forces and all security forces are under the command of joint operations," indicating that "the directives of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces included increasing the presence and strengthening the units on the fronts."
He also pointed out that "Syria is the vital area for security in Iraq, and what is happening in Syria threatens Iraqi national security, but Iraq in (2024) is radically different from (2014)."
Al-Fayadh continued that "the Popular Mobilization Forces are a huge force that reaches a quarter of a million members, and whoever advances in Iraq will be disgraced," stressing the need to "stand behind the security forces." He explained
that "the Popular Mobilization Forces are an official force that obeys the command of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and is at his disposal," adding, "I categorically deny the entry of the Popular Mobilization Forces into Syria, and that its forces do not operate outside Iraq."
He went on to say, "We do not have factions in the Popular Mobilization Forces, and there is no incubator for terrorism in Iraq at the present time."
The head of the Popular Mobilization Forces revealed that "the Prime Minister is in contact with Turkey and Syria to contain the current danger."
He pointed out that "Iraq is strong with its government, parliament, judicial institution, political forces and all its components," stressing, "We will not allow anyone to cross the borders, especially since the security of the country and the citizen is sacred."
