    Economy News - Follow-up
The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs is preparing to launch the National Employment Policy to improve the local labor market, revealing that most companies have been evading the implementation of instructions and bringing in unlicensed workers. The
ministry's spokesman, Najm Al-Aqabi, said in an interview with "Al-Sabah", followed by "Al-Eqtisad News", that his ministry has been working for more than a year, in coordination with the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers and the Ministry of Planning, to complete the National Employment Policy, which it considered one of the government's priorities for what it includes in addressing the most important failures in the labor market and improving the employment situation and creating new job opportunities for young people in addition to implementing the goals of sustainable development. He stressed that the coming period will witness the completion of the formulation of the National Employment Policy in line with the components of the government program, as it addresses the reality of an important segment of society, which is the category of job seekers, through advanced and modern training and employment programs that the policy will include, according to a practical implementation plan in cooperation and coordination with all concerned parties.
Al-Aqabi explained that his ministry has prepared a new work map in coordination and cooperation with the relevant departments and authorities, with the aim of adapting and correcting the legal path of the foreign labor situation. A research questionnaire has been prepared and will be sent to oil and investment companies in the private sector in order to indicate the skills required from foreign workers, in addition to knowing the numbers of national and expatriate workers for advancement. In the same context, he revealed that his ministry has recorded evasion by most oil and investment companies in the private sector from registering expatriate workers legally, and their violation of the controls and recruitment instructions by relying on unlicensed workers, stressing that if the ministry is provided with incorrect information about the status of workers in it, those companies will be subject to legal accountability and financial fines.
