Shafaq News/ The official spokesman for the Iraqi Ministry of Planning confirmed today, Tuesday, the continuation of the population census process in all Iraqi governorates, which is in the first quarter of the third phase, while revealing a plan being prepared by the Ministry of Planning to count Iraqis abroad.
The ministry's spokesman, Abdul Zahra Al-Hindawi, said in a statement to Shafaq News Agency, "The census process is ongoing in all Iraqi governorates and is proceeding well. It is in the first quarter of the third phase of completing information about individuals and families, as the registration process is ongoing by the enumerators."
He pointed out that "the Ministry of Planning will complete the census process in full within two weeks, and it is part of the plan that the Ministry has set to complete the census process in a final manner."
Regarding the process of counting the number of Iraqis abroad, Al-Hindawi confirmed that “Iraqis who are on study missions or for treatment have been registered with their families. After the population census is completed throughout Iraq and the database is completed at the Iraqi Ministry of Planning for all governorates regarding the census, we will begin the process of preparing a plan to count Iraqis abroad.”
He added, "The great success of the population census in all governorates makes it easy for Iraq to count Iraqis abroad, as we will distribute the census equipment to Iraqi embassies in all countries and begin to count the numbers according to an information base that matches the governorates' census. Then the ministry will have a complete census of the population at home and abroad."
