    The head of the Financial and Administrative Committee in Basra Provincial Council, Shukr Mahmoud Al-Amiri, called for the recovery of the governorate’s due rights from border crossings and petrodollar revenues.
    Al-Amiri said in a statement to Al-Maalouma Agency, "The accumulated debts that Basra Governorate is demanding from the revenues of border crossings amounted to six hundred and forty-three billion, six hundred and ninety-five million, seven hundred and eighty-one thousand, nine hundred and seventy-one dinars."
    He added, "The debts due from petrodollar revenues amounted to forty-three trillion, nine hundred and seventy-seven billion, seventy-eight million, nine hundred and eighty-five thousand, seven hundred and ninety-seven dinars."
    Al-Amiri pointed out that "these demands come within the framework of keenness to ensure financial justice and benefit from the rights due to enhance economic development in the governorate, which is one of the most important economic centers in Iraq."
    Al-Amiri stressed that "recovering these funds will contribute to improving basic services and implementing vital development projects that meet the needs of the people of Basra." End/25
