    Political researcher Mujasha' Al-Tamimi commented on Wednesday (December 4, 2024) on the possibility of the success of the call of the ruling State Administration Coalition in Iraq to hold an international meeting regarding the situation in Syria in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad.[/size]
    [size=45]Al-Tamimi said in a statement that “this call is an introduction to the search for diplomatic solutions away from the use of force, violence and weapons, and therefore this initiative is a clear progress in the political behavior of these Iraqi political forces, most of which have armed factions. Therefore, it is a good and successful initiative, and it can have a positive impact on encouraging the Iraqi government to pressure foreign powers, in order to go to the negotiating table, according to the Astana agreement between the relevant parties.”[/size]
    [size=45]He said, "I do not expect the meeting to be held in Baghdad, because the foreign ministers of Iran, Turkey and Russia are likely to meet within the framework of the Astana process on the 7th and 8th of December, to discuss the Syrian file on the sidelines of the Doha Forum."[/size]
    [size=45]“Certainly this initiative alone cannot achieve the desired goal of stopping the violence in Syria and going to negotiations, but it sent a message that there is a unified official Iraqi position, and a government supported by the state administration coalition, and it can have an impact, especially since Iraq has strong relations with the conflicting parties in Syria, which are the United States of America, the main player in the region, in addition to Russia, Iran, Turkey, and the Syrian regime,” he added.[/size]
    [size=45]The State Administration Coalition announced on Tuesday (December 3, 2024) that government and security preparations “are sufficient to prevent any danger to Iraq.”[/size]
    [size=45]The State Administration held its regular meeting in the presence of Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani and Representative Mahmoud Al-Mashhadani.[/size]
    [size=45]In a statement issued after the meeting, the coalition expressed its “support and endorsement of all the government’s diplomatic and security efforts that it has been undertaking since the beginning of the Syrian crisis,” calling for “Baghdad to be the headquarters for ongoing dialogues.”[/size]
    [size=45]The state administration reassured “all the Iraqi people that preparations are sufficient to prevent any danger to Iraq.”[/size]
    [size=45]He stressed "taking steps to preserve the security and safety of Syrian territory on the one hand, and Iraqi national security on the other hand, through the international coalition to fight terrorism in Iraq and Syria."[/size]
