Member of the Sovereignty Alliance Abdul Hamid al-Dulaimi revealed today, Wednesday, the imminent formation of a new political bloc, separate from Mohammed al-Halbousi, in Anbar Governorate and other governorates.
Al-Dulaimi said in a statement that “a meeting brought together the former head of the Sovereignty Alliance, Khamis Al-Khanjar, Ahmed Abu Risha, and Sattam Abu Risha, one of the most prominent opponents of the Progress Party led by Mohammed Al-Halbousi, and a number of political, tribal and religious figures. The attendees agreed to form a new political bloc that will be officially announced in the coming few days after delaying its announcement due to receiving invitations for figures close to the leader of the Progress Party, Mohammed Al-Halbousi, to join.”
He added that "the attendees agreed to take serious steps to isolate the Progress Party and end its control over the administration of the governorate, indicating that "three political and tribal figures will announce within the next few days their withdrawal from the Progress Party due to their unwillingness to continue with a party that does not respect its members."
He added, "This meeting is the first to form the new political bloc, and it will be preceded by other meetings in the coming few days."
Al-Dulaimi pointed out the escalation of the severity of the differences between the political blocs and parties with the Progress Party led by Halbousi. End / 12A
