Parliament declares its full support for Al-Sudani's government

In a precedent that is the first since (2003), the House of Representatives yesterday granted full authorization and full support to the government of Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani in its measures to confront the security challenges that Iraq is going through.
This support, which came from the elected representatives of the people, proves that the government has dealt with the security file and challenges with wisdom and experience, and that it continues to do so, despite the complex circumstances in the region.
Yesterday witnessed the hosting of the Prime Minister in the House of Representatives upon his request, as he said after hosting him: "We reviewed, along with the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Planning and Interior, the policies and measures taken to confront the challenges of the region, and we provided a brief explanation of the progress of implementing the government program, and the rates of achievement achieved on the path of the basic priorities in the program, and we explained the necessity of the ministerial amendment, amending the general federal budget law, and the need for legislation and laws to proceed with the achievement."
He added, in a post on his account on the (X) platform, which was followed by "Al-Sabah", "We believe that achieving the goals of executive work requires supportive and monitoring legislative work," indicating that "the integration between the executive and legislative authorities is the essence of our democratic system, which continues thanks to respect for the constitutional foundations and the sacrifices of our great people whom we are honored to serve in our various positions of responsibility."
According to a statement by the media department of the House of Representatives received by "Al-Sabah", Al-Sudani stressed "Iraq's natural right to guarantee and strengthen the security of its borders, and to emphasize national unity to preserve the security of Iraq, its people and its system," stressing that "Iraq possesses advanced military capabilities, in addition to being part of the international coalition to combat terrorism."
The Prime Minister called on the House of Representatives "to expedite the amendment of the Federal General Budget Law for the fiscal years (2023, 2024, 2025)."
Regarding the government program, Al-Sudani explained that "the ministerial amendment is one of the principles of the government program, and its goal does not target any party or person, but rather it was included according to professional standards for each ministry," indicating that "the government is in the process of making a ministerial amendment in two stages; however, the reason for the failure to proceed with it is the lack of approval of some parties of the political forces that formed the government on the mechanism for the amendment."
He added that "the priorities of the government program include strategic projects and programs, the completion rates of which have reached (62%)," calling on the House of Representatives "to legislate important laws such as (the Aviation Authority Law), (the Economic Reform Law), (the Arbitration Law), (the Securities Law), and (the Intellectual Property Law)."
At the end of the hosting, the members of the House of Representatives expressed their full support for Al-Sudani's government in its measures to address the security challenges facing Iraq, to preserve its national security and protect citizens. They appreciated the government's role in maintaining security and not dragging Iraq into a proxy war, in addition to the joint cooperation between the legislative, executive, and judicial authorities, with the importance of governing procedures in order to eliminate corruption and follow up on those files according to the government program.
