Sudan's Foreign Relations Advisor: US Remains Indispensable Partner

The Prime Minister's Advisor for Foreign Relations, Farhad Alaaldin, stressed that the United States remains an indispensable partner, while pointing out that the Iraqi-American relationship is a decisive factor in the stability and prosperity of the region.
Alaa El-Din said in an article, the text of which is as follows:
In a striking indication of the seriousness of the strategic relationship between Iraq and the United States, the phone call between Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani and US President-elect Donald Trump gave a new dimension to this relationship. This call, which received the attention and follow-up of observers and analysts, inaugurated an important phase of the relationship before Trump assumes his presidential duties for the next four years, as the entire world looks forward to this phase with great anticipation and interest.
For his part, the Sudanese president affirmed Iraq’s commitment to strengthening its relations with Washington. After a phone call with President Trump last month, he stressed his vision for a future based on “equality and mutual interests.” This commitment to strategic partnership reflects Iraq’s need to strengthen its security file, but it extends to a broader scope that includes developing the financial, economic, energy, and technology sectors. The commitment here embodies Iraq’s clear goals of preserving its sovereignty, developing its capabilities, and advancing its development reality, in addition to maintaining balanced and distinguished relations with neighboring countries and the world alike.
