Standard Chartered sees the potential for Bitcoin to rise to $200,000 by the end of next year, after the cryptocurrency crossed $100,000 levels today for the first time ever.
Standard Chartered's target price for Bitcoin of $200,000 by the end of next year is achievable, the bank's analyst Jeff Kendrick said on Thursday, December 5.
“We could see a bigger upside if Bitcoin sees faster uptake by US pension funds, as well as global sovereign wealth funds,” Kendrick added.
Institutional flows are also expected to continue next year at or above 2024 levels.
Bitcoin has risen by about 140% since the beginning of this year and by 48% since Donald Trump was elected President of the United States.
Standard Chartered had predicted in April last year that Bitcoin would rise to $100,000 by the end of this year, when the cryptocurrency was trading at $27,000.
