{Economic: Al Furat News} Member of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, Jamal Kojer, confirmed that service projects will not be affected by the delay in the 2025 financial budget schedules.
"Regarding service projects and their impact on the delay in the 2025 budget schedules, they will not be affected because the 2023 and 2024 budgets are still being disbursed," Kocher told Al-Furat News Agency.
"There is no specific date for the budget schedules to reach the House of Representatives yet," he added.
Earlier on Thursday, the Parliamentary Finance Committee submitted a request to the Presidency of the House of Representatives to withdraw the amendment to the budget law from the agenda, considering that "the committee has not completed the observations and discussion on the budget law."
Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, during his hosting of the Wednesday session, called on the House of Representatives to expedite the amendment of the budget law.
Al-Furat News had previously published the text of the draft amendment to the Federal Financial Budget Law for the years 2023, 2024 and 2025.
According to the proposed amendment, the reasons are “for the purpose of appointing a specialized international technical advisory body to calculate the fair estimated costs of producing and transporting oil produced in the Kurdistan Region and for each field separately, preserving national wealth, enhancing actual federal revenues, and enabling the State Oil Marketing Company (SOMO) to make optimal use of export outlets and diversify them.”
