    Baghdad Today - Kurdistan
An informed source revealed, today, Sunday (December 8, 2024), the size of the Kurdistan Region's monthly non-oil revenues from tax revenues and border crossings.
The source said in an interview with "Baghdad Today" that "according to the information, non-oil revenues reach about 350 billion dinars per month, and through them the regional government can cover the deficit in financing employees' salaries by relying on those revenues."
He added, "The region has not handed over internal revenues for 6 months, and this is in violation of the budget law, which stipulates that 50% of internal revenues be handed over to the federal government, in order to continue to fully finance employees' salaries."
Former Kurdish MP Ghaleb Muhammad commented on Friday (December 6, 2024) on the reasons for the return of the employee salaries crisis in the region and its recurrence on a monthly basis without solutions.
Mohammed said in an interview with Baghdad Today, "For 5 years, we have been demanding that the federal government pay employees' salaries through federal banks, and open more of these banks inside the region."
He added, "After the Federal Court's decision on the authority to give employees' salaries directly from Baghdad, and to localize them in the Federal Ministry of Finance, there are no localization operations yet."
Mohammed pointed out that "the regional government is the one that insisted on an accounting project, which is an illegal project and violates the decision of the Federal Court. Therefore, there is no solution except to abandon the courtesies and localize salaries exclusively in the federal banks, and for Baghdad to intervene to localize salaries and implement the judicial decision, because this crisis will never be resolved."
