    [rtl]President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, stressed today, Sunday, the importance of addressing the phenomenon of gas emissions and limiting their spread.[/rtl]
    [rtl]The media department of the presidency of the republic stated in a statement received by "Al-Eqtisad News" that "President of the Republic Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid received at the Baghdad Palace, Minister of Environment He Lu Al-Askari, and at the beginning of the meeting, the President of the Republic congratulated the minister on the occasion of his assumption of his position as Minister of Environment."[/rtl]
    [rtl]The statement added that "during the meeting, the Ministry of Environment's plans and strategies aimed at protecting and improving the environmental situation in the country were discussed," noting "the need to continue efforts to confront the phenomenon of climate change and its negative consequences on life in the future."[/rtl]
    [rtl]According to the statement, the President of the Republic pointed out "the importance of addressing the phenomenon of gas emissions and working to limit their spread," stressing "the necessity of continuing cooperation and coordination between the Ministry, the Baghdad Municipality, and the rest of the relevant parties to follow up and monitor all types of illegal activities in the water, soil, and air, which cause harm to the environmental reality."[/rtl]
    [rtl]For his part, Al-Askari provided an explanation of the Ministry of Environment’s goals in combating pollution, and plans to confront climate change in order to achieve a healthy environment in the country.[/rtl]
