    Baghdad Today - Follow-up
    The US State Department announced today, Monday, December 9, 2024, that the United States will not allow the terrorist organization ISIS to launch terrorist attacks.
    The US State Department said in a statement reported by Al Jazeera: "We will not allow ISIS to exploit the current moment to launch terrorist attacks."
    "We will support Israel, Jordan and Iraq against any threats that may come from Syria," she added.
    The US State Department noted that it had been in contact with groups in Syria in recent days, sometimes through intermediaries.
    It is noteworthy that the Syrian opposition announced the formation of an emergency government that will supervise the holding of new elections to choose a government to lead Syria during the next phase.
