    Minister of Justice Khaled Shawani announced today, Tuesday, the details of the national plan for the years (2021-2025) related to human rights, while indicating that Prime Minister Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani is continuously following up on Iraq's international obligations in the field of human rights.

    In a speech during the third national forum of the National Plan for Human Rights on the occasion of the (76) anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights under the slogan (Human Rights are the Basis for Development and Prosperity), attended by the correspondent of the Iraqi News Agency (INA), Shawani said: "This forum came on the occasion of the announcement of the International Human Rights Day, as it represents a dear occasion for the peoples of the world," indicating: "We feel proud and honored to issue this declaration, which is considered a humanitarian document that preserves rights and protects human dignity."
    He continued: "On the occasion of the seventy-sixth anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, we have the right as a state, especially after the new experience that came after 2003 with a democratic system dominated by human rights, to be proud of the achievements in the field of promoting human rights, especially with regard to the tasks of the Ministry of Justice in this file," explaining that "the Ministry of Justice, represented by the Human Rights Department, was able to approve a national plan for the years (2021-2025) to chart a path for the institutions of the sectoral bodies in order to develop the national legislative system and prepare policies for promoting and protecting human rights in Iraq."
    He pointed out that "one of the outcomes of this plan is to consolidate the administrative alphabet of human rights formations in government institutions in implementation of the recommendations of international contracts and mechanisms, which were unified based on the recommendation of the Ministry of Justice and with the approval of the Prime Minister, who shows great interest in human rights institutions in all state departments and governmental interest in this file, as well as his continuous follow-up in implementing Iraq's international obligations in the field of human rights, as well as harmonizing national legislation related to human rights in this regard."[/size]
