    Today, Tuesday (December 10, 2024), strategic affairs expert Muhammad Al-Tamimi warned of the danger of the Zionist entity implementing the “Greater Israel” project during the next phase.
    Al-Tamimi said in an interview with Baghdad Today, "The Zionist entity has a dangerous and large project, which is (Greater Israel), and it is currently expanding in Syria and entering the Syrian depth in a large and dangerous way, exploiting the fall of the regime, and it comes within the entity's plan to achieve this dream, and Israel may seek to reach even the Iraqi borders."
    He explained that "Israel's expansion into Syrian territory in this dangerous manner has serious repercussions on the level of national security for all countries in the region and Iraq in particular, and therefore there must be urgent international and UN action to stop the expansion of the entity and prevent it from achieving its dangerous project (Greater Israel), as this project includes Iraqi territory."
    Greater Israel or the complete Land of Israel is a phrase that refers to the borders of Israel according to the Jewish interpretation of the Torah, as in the Book of Genesis, where God’s covenant with Abraham is mentioned.
    According to this claim, the borders of the Land of Israel include all the territories occupied in 1948, the West Bank, the Gaza Strip, and the Golan Heights.
    Currently, the most common definition of the territory covered by the term is the territory of Israel together with the Palestinian territories. The former definition, preferred by Revisionist Zionism, includes the territory of the former Emirate of Transjordan. 
    In 2016, Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, then a member of the Knesset (parliament), said in an interview with an Israeli television channel that “the borders of Jerusalem should extend to the Syrian capital Damascus, and that Israel should also seize Jordan.”
    This is what actually happened in the context of the genocidal war waged by the Israeli occupation army on the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, which coincided with the escalation of its aggression on the West Bank and the start of clashes with Hezbollah in Lebanon that recently expanded into a comprehensive war.
    On March 19, 2023, during his visit to Paris, Smotrich stood in front of a platform bearing a map of the alleged “Greater Land of Israel,” including all of historical Palestine and Jordan, which sparked a wave of anger at the time.
    At the time, Smotrich denied the existence of a Palestinian people at all, claiming that this people was “a heresy invented 100 years ago to fight the Zionist project in the Land of Israel.”
    In response to Smotrich, writer David Miller (left-wing) posted a map on his X account claiming that “the borders of the Greater State of Israel include parts of Egypt, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, and Syria, in addition to all of historical Palestine, Jordan, and Lebanon.”
    And he attached a comment to it: Surprise! The Arabs were right from the beginning about "Greater Israel", this was always the plan.
