    A high-level US delegation, headed by John Bass, Under Secretary of State for Management and Acting Under Secretary for Political Affairs, arrived in Baghdad, while stressing Washington's continued support for Iraq in confronting terrorist organizations. A statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated: "Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fuad Hussein, met with John Bass, Under Secretary of State for Management and Acting Under Secretary for Political Affairs, Barbara Leaf, Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs, and Michele Siders, Political Advisor. At the beginning of the meeting, he welcomed the guest delegation, noting that this visit comes on an important day that carries great meanings for Iraqis and Americans, which is the day of achieving victory over the terrorist organization ISIS. The two sides stressed that this victory was achieved thanks to the sacrifices of the Iraqis and Americans, stressing that coordination and cooperation will continue to confront the terrorist organizations that threaten the security of Iraq and its people. During the meeting, the situation and tensions in the region were discussed, with a focus on the situation in Syria and a review of all possible possibilities for its future. The Minister affirmed Iraq's interest in the security and stability of Syria, stressing Iraq's support for the choices of the Syrian people and its efforts to build a stable and prosperous Syria that ensures the participation of all its components in managing the country's affairs.[/size]
