    Baghdad Today - Erbil
An informed source revealed, today, Wednesday (December 11, 2024), that the Federal Ministry of Finance sent today an amount of 430 billion dinars, to cover the deficit for the remaining three months of the current year.
The source said in an interview with "Baghdad Today" that "the Federal Ministry of Finance will also send today an amount of 795 billion for November salaries, and there is a remaining shortfall of about 100 billion that the regional government will complete."
He added, "The Ministry of Finance in the regional government will announce today a list of employees' salaries and the distribution schedule for the month of October, after which the salaries for the month of November will be disbursed."
On Monday (December 9, 2024), employees of the departments of Sulaymaniyah Governorate continued their strike for the second day in a row, due to the non-payment of salaries for more than 70 days.
A Baghdad Today correspondent said, "The retirement, tax, notary, traffic, cement, electricity, industry, and school departments in Sulaymaniyah, Halabja, Sayyid Sadiq, Chamchamal, and Raparin have gone on strike completely."
The correspondent quoted employees as saying that they "will continue the strike, even if the regional government pays the salaries of employees for the month of October of this year, because their demands are to pay salaries for three months, and to deposit them exclusively in federal banks," noting that "dozens of employees have gathered in front of the traffic and retirement departments, but no one is receiving their applications, due to the strike."
