    Baghdad Today - Kirkuk
The head of the National State Forces Alliance, Ammar al-Hakim, stressed today, Wednesday (December 11, 2024), the necessity of everyone’s participation in the local government of Kirkuk Governorate, stressing that Iraq is immune to what some countries have been exposed to.
Al-Hakim said in a statement received by " Baghdad Today" , "At the beginning of our visit to Kirkuk, and in the presence of its governor, Ribwar Taha, his two deputies, the head of the provincial council, Mohammed Ibrahim Al-Hafez, and a number of members of the provincial council, we met with the heads of administrative units, directors of service departments, and security leaders in the province," stressing "the necessity of everyone's participation in the local government, and the necessity of joining it, and we said the importance of local governments in providing services, and that the decline in the level of services makes the political system a target, as services are supported by the reality of the political system and the rallying of Iraqis around it."
He stressed that "Iraq is immune to what some countries have been exposed to," noting that "it is necessary to keep local governments away from political conflicts, and we called for adapting ambitions to the comprehensive national will," noting the importance of "restoring the powers of local governments in accordance with the constitution that stipulates administrative decentralization, and that the application of decentralization guarantees the unity of the country and its interests, so the people of the house are more deserving and know what is in it, and we explained the importance of the legal path to obtaining powers."
He continued: "Kirkuk is an icon of coexistence and a miniature Iraq and it is the real test for establishing coexistence between the components," noting "the necessity of leaving the rentier state, especially with the population growth, and that the solution is to diversify the economy through agriculture, industry, tourism, investment and technology, and Kirkuk is prepared to activate these productive sectors, and we called for automation, governance and putting forward ideas to facilitate people's dealings."
He stressed "the importance of combating corruption, along with the importance of caring for young people, paying attention to their proportions in society, and working to fulfill their ambitions," calling for "spreading positivity and optimism, and confronting negative social phenomena such as drugs, divorce rates, and the decline of values in some areas."
Al-Hakim said, "There is a trend to support the provinces financially in the budget for the coming year, and we called for paying the provinces' share of the petrodollar, and granting Kirkuk a share of the reconstruction of the liberated areas," noting "the importance of paying attention to the health and education sectors," praising "Kirkuk's zeroing out of its stalled projects."
