Establishing the largest petrochemical complex in the holy city of Karbala

The Ministry of Industry and Minerals reported that the largest petrochemical complex in the holy Karbala Governorate will be completed by 2026.
The Assistant Director of the Industrial Cities Authority in the Ministry, Riyadh Jassim Kazim, said in a statement to Al-Sabah: "One of the goals of the ministry is to establish and develop modern industrial cities in all governorates in order to encourage the private sector to establish small, medium and large projects that serve the national economy and create more job opportunities for workers with various specializations in the governorates, in addition to playing a major role in attracting and attracting investors from local and foreign industrialists."
He explained that "the petrochemical complex project, which is expected to be completed by 2026, is one of the most important industrial projects currently being worked on in the governorate by a local company with an area of five thousand and 300 acres."
Kazim confirmed that "the complex includes four specialized industrial projects that work on producing petroleum and petrochemical materials, primary, intermediate and final, in order to provide other industries with their important primary products."
The industrial city in which the complex is located is one of the important development projects for an integrated industry and provides an attractive environment for local and foreign investors and businessmen to establish industrial divisions. Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani laid its foundation stone last August.
The Deputy Director of the Industrial Cities Authority stated that "the industrial city in the holy Karbala Governorate includes six industrial zones: administrative, economic, engineering and transformation industries, public services, and basic services, in addition to the logistics services zone."
He continued, "Each zone includes its own buildings and services, in addition to streets, green areas, specialized buildings, technology and information services, and security and guard companies around the clock to secure the city, while providing service buildings such as hotels," noting that "the city includes a medical clinic building, rest areas, a civil defense building, and a laboratory building."
