Shafaq News/ The Jordanian Chamber of Commerce announced on Wednesday that Iraq came first among the countries importing commercial goods from Jordan during 11 months of the current year 2024.
The Chamber said in a statement seen by Shafaq News Agency, "Iraq came first as the Arab country that imported the most from Jordan in terms of the value of imported goods during 11 months of the current year, amounting to 645 million Jordanian dinars, followed by Saudi Arabia with 108 million Jordanian dinars, then Egypt with 96 million dinars, and the Emirates with 75 million Jordanian dinars."
The Chamber noted that, "The Amman Chamber of Commerce issues certificates of origin for agricultural and animal products, raw Jordanian natural resources, and foreign goods that are re-exported," noting that "the certificates of origin that went to Iraq amounted to 2,493 certificates."
She continued by saying, "The Chamber's exports during the 11 months of the current year 2024, of foreign products "re-exports" amounted to about 693 million dinars, industrial products 270 million dinars, agricultural products 177 million dinars, Arab products 83 million dinars, and the rest for other products."
The US dollar is equal to about 70 Jordanian dinars.
It is noteworthy that Iraq imports most of its goods and commodities from neighboring countries, especially Turkey and Iran, after Jordan was a major market for it in the nineties of the last century during the period of the economic blockade on the country.
